  14. Greetings,

I'm a CrossFitter from CrossFit Camp Lejeune, NC. I'm taking an assignment to Offutt AFB in a couple of weeks and would very much like to find a group to workout with. I definately plan on stopping by CrossFit Omaha, but it would be great to find some like-minded folks on the base too.

    Semper Fi,
    Marco

  16. Marco. there are very few crossfitters at the base gym...and it is def not OLY lift friendly...but there is chalk and the track is inside the gym. there is space to set up your "area of doom" for the workouts. hope all goes well and see you in a couple weeks!

  18. Marco,

I'm going with Joe on this one. The base gym is not crossfit friendly. Several people have tried to get an on base workout going, but the gym absolutely refuses. Also the weight area is very cluttered and often crowded which makes doing multiple lifts in a workout difficult. Your best bet is to just come to Crossfit Omaha. There are more military people at CFO than there are trying to do crossfit on base. Best of luck with the move!

  20. Joe/Jenni, thanks for the heads up. I suspected as much...I hit the Offutt gym during my house hunting trip...knocked out "Linda"...strange looks...asked about kettle bells...deer-in-the-headlights...

It was a lot of work getting the Military-Affiliate here on Camp Lejeune going, but we built up a pretty good following (www.crossfitcamplejeune.org). I look forward to checking out the CrossFit Omaha box. How much does it cost to workout there? Do they have a military discount?
  21. Jenni Says:
  22. Marco,

They do have a military discount. For unlimited classes/gym time, it's 100 bucks a month. The affiliate is about a 15 minute drive from Bellevue. A majority of us military folk car pool. If we can get a workout in on base (like yesterday's SDHP, air squats) we'll do it. The looks you get are great. We were doing handstand pushups yesterday and had quite a bit of stares...

  24. Jenni,

Thanks very much for the info...looking forward to working out with the Offutt/Omaha CrossFitters...

Thanks For Visiting!
