Did yesterday's wod: tabata pushups and ball slams; used a purple band for rd 1, then a tan for rd 2 and tan+purple for rd 3; took 11:10. It's so great to be done working out already today!

Awesome job on the pr Paul! But you know I'd have to have another go if you beat my time:) Everyone else looked like they were putting in some work today. Nice job 6am'ers, especially for a rest day! I did the mainsite wod and thought I did well until I got home to see that I hadn't even done my previous pr, probably should have checked before going in today. Good workout though. Steve, and anyone else looking for an energy bar that's fairly close to the zone, here's a link the the Snicker's marathon energy bar. The two chewy types are 2 blocks protein, ~2 carbs, and ~5 fat. It's about the closest bar I've seen. http://www.snickersmarathon.com/products/energy.asp?bar=1

balance bars have zone-appropriate macronutrient proportions (40-30-30, carbs-protein-fat). Honey peanut is delicious, if you can find it. obviously still not as good as real food, but they're a life-saver for me when i'm travelling.
thanks for the props, John--we'll have to go head-to-head on that sometime.

I have no idea which bars are best. I just like the taste of balance bars. and the texture, for that matter. (all this talk of food...good thing it's lunch time!)

Back squat - 171 x 5... I wish I had jumped up to this for the 4th set instead of messing with the 166. I think I could have gotten up to 176, which is my 3-rep max, but I was too tired after the last 2 sets.
I love early morning strength days, but now I'm home wanting to back squat again. I think I have a problem...

Did workout A, Christine, finished in 10:57. Second day on the zone or in the zone. Eating tons of broccoli, the people in the cafeteria have to refill the salad bar after Joe and I roll through. Enjoying it so far especially eating sardines and kipper snack, co workers not enjoying it as much as I am.

Did yesterday's WOD. I don't remember my time but I did prescribed push-ups. I did a lot better than I thought I would do with the ball slams, I didn't break up the first 50 at all. I hate balls slams.

did yesterdays tabata pushups and ball slams, 9:10 started out with 13 pushups and then joe casually mentioned that we should pick a number and stick to it so I went down to 6. good thing too, pushups are quite possibly my biggest weakness and theres no way i would have finished doing 13 each round. Good job today Mel!

Main site WOD: Back Squat 165X5. One rep max was 169, so I was pretty pleased. Thought about trying for a new one-rep, but decided to call it a night. Great job to everyone at 5:30! Oh, and Zone bars are bad, but work when there are no other options. I think Steve maybe still has some of his life-time supply he bought a while back! ha! I do like the Balance Bar Bare, peanut butter. Fairly good ratios. Pretty filling too. John, I am trying to get over the fact that a "Snickers Marathon" bar is acceptable. It just seems so wrong. Now, are three LARGE bites of a cinnamon roll zone approved? I'm going to say they are. :-)
