Specialization is for Insects!

Ricky Frausto Filed Under:
A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, and die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

-Robert Heinlein

WOD

21-15-9 reps for time
Full Squat Cleans (135#/75#)
Handstand Pushups

Scale the load on the squat cleans if needed. (allowable weights are as follows: 115 - 95 - 75 - 55 - 45 - 33 - 25) You may use abmats for the handstand pushups but try using one less than usual if possible.

  2. Going to do my best to make it in. I SHOULD be done with work in plenty of time, but I only got about 2 1/2 hours of sleep, so we'll see how mobile I am by then. :) I always miss HSPU workouts, so I'll definitely be in I'm even mostly conscious.

  4. 14:07

Used 135# for the cleans and one blue pad for the HSPUs. I was very happy to finish before the 15 minute cut off considering the first round took about 8-9 minutes.

  6. 19:05. Every time I do higher reps of O-lifts it always amazes me how they get easier as you become more tired.

  10. I thought I was at 14 and a half because I thought the cut off was 15... but I was well behind Mel so now I have no idea what my time was. I did 75# and 2 ab mats as well.

  14. that's because I'm an idiot and it was 11:50 not 16:50...it's hard for me to subtract after Crossfit :)

  20. I really struggled with this one, and didn't even finish. I used the yellows and made it to rep six of the 3rd set. On the upside, my HSPU's improved from last time...but still need a long way to go.

  22. I really enjoyed this one. Used 75# and started with two abmats, until Ricky thought it would be fun to make it harder by increasing ROM. I appreciate it, though. I think it will help make me strong!!! I finished after Tovar...I don't know my time...
    Awesome job, everyone!!!

  30. I did it in 13:05 scaled of course. 53lbs and a lot of ab mats and bumpers. I wish I could do HSPU better, practice will make that happen.
