CrossFit Omaha Girls Are Strong!

Ricky Frausto Filed Under:
Kylie, strict pulling a 30lb. dumbell b/w the feet.

These past two weeks have been enormous for our girls. They have gotten stronger both mentally and physically and are having a lot of fun putting up big numbers. They are doing things I don't think they ever thought they would be doing. We had 5 girls deadlift over 209lbs. for 2 reps or more including Kylie (above) who deadlifted 230lbs. for 3 reps. I gotta give it up to you women who are supposedly in a man's environment and just crushing anything and everything that Joe and I put in front of you. Anytime we talk about CrossFit Omaha you guys are the one's we talk about. Gotta love it!!!!!!!!!

WOD
2 rounds for time:
800 meter run
40 Vertical Jumps, 1 foot above reach
30 Burpees (no jump, full pushup)
20 Turkish Getups (1 pood/25lbs.)

Scale the load on the getups if needed.

Post time to comments.

  2. This workout showed me what I need to work on the most...Shoulder strength. The Get-ups were brutal and I could only do the 12kg KB. Only made it to 24 Burpees when the time ran out. For those who are interested, running in the barefoot shoes is already starting to feel pretty good. I think my "pose" form while wearing them is getting better everyday. Looking forward to breaking my mile PR in them very soon.

  6. this is not any fun at all. i got 18 burpees done on the second round before the 20 min cut-off. the first round of turkish getups took me over 6 minutes. wow.

anyway, on a lighter note...it's mel's birthday and i'm leaving soon, so we're going out to dinner at the cheesecake factory tonight to celebrate. not sure what time yet, but i'm leaving saturday morning, so i'd love to see you before i leave!! i'll post a time when we know more!

  8. I really liked this workout like 20 minutes after it was over. It was hard and I didn't even finish. I got all the way through and had only 10 get-ups left. I used the half pood KB and that got heavy fast! Great job to Kylie and Mel! Good luck in Illinois Kylie..... and it's great to have you back Mel

  18. ok - pardon my french, but holy mother h*ll! Those turkish getups were not fun - my mind kept searching for the "easy" button and it wasn't there, and I was using a 20LB dumbbell!! I got through 24 burpees in round two and then finally heard the time being called....

Welcome back Mel - -) Reba

I didn't break up the burpees in round 1 and didn't break up the turkish getups except for switching hands (round 1). I did 3 sets of 10 burpees in round 2 and broke up the getups into 4 rounds of 5. The second 800 run was absolutley horrible. Thank god it is over. Hopefully we will see you guys up at Cheesecake Factory.
