Is Your Workout Wasting Your Time? - Best Life Magazine

Here is an article I found on CrossFit Birmingham's website about big business health clubs and and how they spend millions of dollars on machines in order to wow you but in the end what they have done is bought into the notion (from machine manufacturers) that the more machines they have the less they have to watch what is actually going on in the gym. They don't have to hire trainers except for those that want them and even then that is just another opportunity to charge you even more for someone to take you over to the machines and walk you through each one even though he/she may not even have a basic understanding of human movement and performance. A college degree in exercise science or a related field means nothing when it comes to training humans other than knowing key words and definitions. You have to have and in-depth understanding of how humans move and what is needed in order to increase performance in sport and/or everyday life activities such as playing with the kids or completing household chores.

Joe and I are very passionate about human movement and function and understand what our client base is capable of and how to get them to their next level. If you are tired of the isolation (no pun intended) of working out in a big box health club with nothing but mirrors, people looking (down) at each other, and MACHINES that don't teach you anything about movement but actually lean you more towards decrepitness
(not independence) come check us out at CrossFit Omaha and see why we are different! Why I am proud to say that Joe and I are your best bet to reach those fitness goals of losing weight, changing your body, decreasing back, joint, knee, and/or any other bodily pain, and increasing energy. Don't be intimidated by the videos and/or exercises you see on this site as everyone has to start from somewhere. No background, no problem; but you can be darn sure that you will love yourself for making that call and/or stepping in our door.
