We have mentioned and have sent out an email about our upcoming BBQ on the lake on June 27th. We would encourage you to RSVP to crossfitomaha@gmail.com. Your are expected to come, family and all. Meat and veggies will be provided and as a plus, you will get to come see your affiliate team do a team workout on the sand. Swimming will be an option as well.

Well in addition to this event, that very next day, Monday, June 28th, we will be holding a very special workout. This day marks the one year anniversary of an event that changed the gym forever.

One of our very own, lost his life in a boating accident. Eric Jarecki was a huge fan of CrossFit Omaha. He came to us via Precision Industries from up the street. He would come every morning at 6AM and rarely missed a workout. He was strong and just a great guy. When we heard of his accident, it hit the gym hard.

Eric left behind a wife and four children, one of whom he never met. If you have children or if you have a special dad (Father's Day), I would encourage you to think of them and make an extra special effort to make it into the gym this day and give your best effort at the workout we created for Eric. We did it one year ago and now it is time to pay our respects by giving it another go.

Please join us in doing so and thank you in advance. God bless you Eric.

  4. Thanks Jake! Thanks for pushing me, and thanks Joe for the help on doubleunders. Did yesterday's WOD. Finished round 5 right as the 12 min. mark hit. Good stuff. Worked some reverse hyperextension, glute/ham raises and worked on shoulder flexibility by holding a buch of weight in the front squat stance for a while. Good rest day.
Way to hit some good squats today Brian!

  10. Awesome vid, Greg MO!

I have been doing manual labor for the last few days and been too beat up to touch a barbell. Festivities include: shoveling gravel, pushing wheelbarrow full of gravel uphill, sawing tree limbs, hauling tree limbs away. My arms are dead.

Kept doing something funky and not getting extension - couldn't figure it out. I blame the heat. Last set was a little better.

DU/KBS/burpee metcon = brutal. My double-unders have slipped, apparently. And the heat made the burpees unbearable. I don't know what my score was, but I know it was well under 100. Last set was ONE REP. Miserable. AND I broke my water bottle. Horrible, horrible WOD. At least I had the Tovars to suffer through it with me.

  16. Did a real fun WOD with the 5:30 group:
    7 Rounds
    1 HSPU (no mats)
    300 meter row
    5 Burpees
    7 KB swings 1.5 pood
Cut off time was 15 mins and then it changed to 20 mins and I was on the rower of the 6th round :(
Theory was it should take about 1:30 to do the row and the we should have been able to do the rest in 45 sec...yeah right!! This was much harder than I thought. I did get all the HSPU's which was nice.

Thanks For Visiting!
