WOD

CrossFit West Santa Cruz will now be the default affiliate WOD followed, should a workout not be posted to your respective affiliate.

Post times, rounds, or weights lifted and thoughts to comments.

Here is a map showing directions from the gym out to Chris' house. You can basically take maple to 156th, take 156th north until you hit Bennington road. Take a left on Bennington Road and follow it until you reach 180th. Take a right on 180th and follow that until you see an entrance on your right, this is 179th circle. Upon entering 179th circle take a left and follow this road until you reach the houses at the end of the circle. His is the house on the right.

If you are still unsure about what to bring to the anniversary party, we have made it easy for you. If your last name starts with the letters A thru S, you're responsible for sides and salads (be creative, no bags of chips, ha). If your last name starts with the letters T thru Z, you're responsible for desserts. Everyone is responsible for their own beverages. Water will be provided.

If anyone has an extra volleyball set or two, we could use it so that multiple teams can participate in Hoover Ball.

Another thing about the roundtable and the committees they are forming: Be on the lookout for the 2nd Annual Ultimate Med Ball Tourney. Woot woot!

  2. An easier, maybe less traffic, way to get to Chris' house would be get off the interstate at Dodge and take Dodge west to 168th, then take 168th north to Bennington Rd.

Great Job 6am. 20:44 Used #35 for Snatch and Goblet squat. Almost the last one done.

Great job, 6am. As usual, i couldn't have pushed that hard without so many great athletes busting ass right next to me.

  23. Addi Says:
  24. Greg, I can be there tomorrow morning... If tomorrow doesn't work, I can make most mornings or evenings. Weekends are tricky, but I can probably make it work.
  25. Greg MO Says:

  28. I have an extra volleyball set. I'll bring it, but won't be there until around 5:30 or 6:00.

Since you are canceling classes on Tuesday night, shouldn't you also cancel the Wednesday 6 am class? ...just to be fair? (You know, some guilt free sleeping in). : )

  30. I do check the blog! ha!

Tomorrow is a bad day though. We have our annual 2009 Fall Planning meeting all day, so I will probably be at the office downtown around 730AM tomorrow. I really want to do that WOD, so if we could work out a different time?? Even Thursday AM or Friday AM I am down???

Today sucked for me. Snatch is not my friend, causes spasms in my low back, prob bc I am so weak there!

    Nice work Addi!
  31. ZachR Says:
  32. I did Barbara today. With the 30 minute cutoff I only got through 10 situps of round 4.

    Round 1 - 3:49
    Round 2 - 6:07
    Round 3 - 7:38

    Good work today 4:30 class
  33. paul Says:
  34. Did the total this afternoon: squat 335, press 142, DL 440. total 917, which is a PR for the total (by 4 lbs), but no PRs in any individual movement. had a blast, tho!

  36. Santa Cruz Central - 13:56

Snatch technique is finally coming together for me - I think this was the strongest I've felt... turns out working out more consistently and actively applying training cues actually works. Huh. Who knew? Still hate running, though.

    Thanks, Reba!

Nice work, 4:30 - Barbara is my idea of hell. Right up there with running. Maybe worse. It's pretty damn close.
  37. BigD Says:
  38. FRCF. Started with a 45# for db snatches and goblet squat. What a way to come back after a week and a half off! Died out after round 2 and had to drop to a 40# as my form got really sh*tty. 21:24. Ouch! Great job 6AMers for pushing me!
  39. Anonymous Says:
  40. Santa Cruz Central; my snatch technique needs work; did WOD in 14:09 but only did 14 reps at 53# and the rest at 33# due to technique; runs and pullups weren't bad. Thanks Joe for the help w/ snatch.

  42. I hate Barbara. She is not very nice. I hurt my shoulder on the first round of pushups so that was fun. I finished 3 rounds in 34:08. I should have done better, but that's how I usually feel. Great job 4:30ers!
  43. Joe C Says:
  44. ughm so i cheated today on the workout cus im a math genuis. I only rested 2 min on 2 or 3 rounds. sorry 4:30. I got through the pushups on round 5 and then i just fineshed it out since i was so close. And cus i felt bad for cheating. See yall tomorrow at the cookout!!!!!!! :-)
  45. Jen S. Says:
  46. I love Barbara! I got 20 pushups into the 4th round and had no desire to finish it after time ran out.
  47. Paula Says:
  48. I definitely have a love/hate relationship with Barbara! I had 48 squats left in the 3rd round when time was up. I as well had nothing left in the tank to finish. My legs and arms were a really shaky. Awesome job 4:30!!! Hope to see you all at the celebration tomorrow!!
