WOD
"EVA"
5 rounds for time of:
800 meter run
30 Kettle Bell Swings, 2/1.5 pood
30 Pull-ups

There is a 40 minute cut-off for this workout. Be on time as classes will start immediately and warm-ups will be quick.

Scale reps and load where necessary. Be ready for Joe and I to properly scale this workout for you. We know most of everyone's abilities and fitness levels and so we will prescribe what we determine is safe in terms of kettle bell weight and/or kettle bell/pull-up reps. The run may be shortened for you as well.

Even though this goes against everything I believe in, it is a must in order to truly address broad time and modal domains.

Don't forget to address those calluses. File them down but don't remove them. Try to use as little chalk as possible and keep your reps under control as well.

Post time to comments.

  14. I'm pretty happy my boss is out of the office today so I can take a long nap over lunch ... I'm so tired now. Scaled to 5 rounds of 600m run, 15 1 pood swings and 15 pullups w/ a green band; just finished in time at 39:26. Great job to everyone; I couldn't get over how fast people were moving! Awesome job to the visitors from Sacramento too; it's so hard to workout when you're travelling and then you just happen to come for Eva ... yuck! Good luck to everyone else today :).

  16. Wow. What a great crowd at 6am! I knew if I didn't get it done early, I would find any excuse to skip in the afternoon, so I went to my first 6am class... Very stoked.

The workout sucked. I scaled to:
    800m
    20 KB swings (1.5pood)
    20 pullups

...just finished under the wire at 39:23. I think the only CF WOD I've done that was longer was a Run-Angie-Run. But what a WOD!

Welcome to the visitors! Welcome to the new guys, pushing through it and giving it your all after just a couple of classes!

  18. 4 rounds plus 10 pullups as Rx'd (except 1.5 pood)

Uhhhhh..... what does Rhabdo feel like?

  20. Wow,
THis one is really fun and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did. I did four rounds and that was enough for me. I did four scaled rounds actually.
The run was not suprising bad, as usual the pulls up f**kd me up. GOd I hate those things.
    Be good
    Donohoe out
PS Angie your a real asskicker to finish rx with time to spare.

30 pullups 2 go...DAMMIT!!!!...i realy wanted to finish this 1 but after heavy squat yesterday my back is fried...back started cramping into the 2nd rnd of swings so from that point forward i could only get 10-15 out at a time & it slowed me down in everything else...this was also my 1st long run wod with my new vibram 5-fingers, feet feel little like ground hamburger now but during the wod they felt prety good, can definitely tell how it corrects bad run tech (heel striking, etc.)...i'd like to try this wod again with some rest, think i can do alot better

Awesome to see such a huge 6am 4 a tuf wod!!! way 2 work!!!

  28. DNF. Was 9 swings and 20 pullups away from finishing option 2. All I can say is ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow.......
On the positive side, if I can survive 40 minutes of that hell, my PT test next week will be nothing! Thanks for pushing me 6AMers!
  29. Gina Says:
  30. I finished scaled about 5 seconds after the cutoff, so that would be dnf. I scaled to 600 m. 15,15 swings/pull-ups. Running is still a HUGE weakness, ugh.
  31. Kelli Says:
  32. Scaled 5 rounds 600m 15/15. I must have finished. I don't know though. If I did it was right around 38-39 minutes. If I didn't I still had 1 more round to go. I lost track of my rounds. Hate it when that happens. Oh and I despise running. Even if Jon Day is running next to me...though thank you Jon :)
  33. Becky Says:
  34. Today was the first workout that I honestly wanted to quit. I did the first 3 rounds then had to go to jumping pull-ups...my hands were toast. I scaled to 600m 15/15 1 pood. Great job today 4:30...I'm always amazed at the great attitudes no matter how tough!
  35. ZachR Says:
  36. The big DNF!!!!

Made the mistake of going Rx'd even though my diet has been shit since California. Made it half way through round 4 when time was called. Definitely should have scaled. On a positive note my hands did not rip! Good work to everyone at 4:30.
  37. Anonymous Says:
  38. Becky hope your hands heal fast!! That looked really painful! I scaled 600 run, 15/15. This has been a good week and now I am beat...finished 5 rounds in 39:30. Nothing like cutting it close! Great job to everyone at 4:30!
  39. Crystal Says:
  40. Looking at the comments everyone did awesome today. Stopped by the gym at noon & when driving up saw the faces of everyone running. Began to think what will I be getting into at 6:30 tonight.

Did #1 (800, 20, 20). Finished 4 rounds & the run of Round 5 when time was called. I was so close. Hand ripped on round 4 but thank goodness it wasn't deep. Way to push 6:30. It was a tough one!

  42. All I can say is holy cow. I went at 6am but I am just now commenting because I can finally open my hands to type. I ripped my right hand on the 2nd round and actually thought it was just sweat dripping off my fingers but when I glanced down during the run realized I was bleeding. It made it pretty hard to treat patients today with my hands like that. Not fun. I scaled this to 600m run and 15kb/15pu. I finished in 37:22. For the remaining time, I watched Ang kill this WOD Rx'd!!! It was awesome. Great job 6am peeps. :)
  43. Allison H :) Says:
  44. I read this last night and thought "Oh my!!!" and was pretty scared of what would happen today, but I am glad the scaled options were there to choose from! I picked #4 (600m run, 15 1 pood/15pu) and was able to finish in 35:50. It was an awesome workout! Long, but awesome!

This week has been fun times so far! Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

And thank you 4:30 peeps! I feel like we all encouraged and pushed each other through this! From the pats on the back, to the "You can DOOO it!", and all the cheering on... we all make a pretty darn good team of badass motha-F******s! yayayaya! :)

  46. Scaled to #1 with 2 pood, 800 m run 20 swings and 20 pullups. Finished in 38 minutes. Not as bad as I thought since my swings are getting better, still not good but better. Almost ripped on swings and did my last few swings and last round of pullups with just the fingers for grip which slowed me down since I could only do 4 pullups in a row. Nice job 5:30!
  47. BC Says:
  48. DNF, scaled to #1 (800m run, 20/20 swings and pullups). I got all 5 runs done and then 5 swings when the 40 minutes of hell finally ended. Nice job 4:30 class. Since we have my girls on Tue nights I'm not able to make it in Wed am's so I've usually just made Wed a rest day, but I think I'll have to start coming Wed nights from now on, it was nice seeing people that I haven't seen in a while.
  49. Joe C Says:
  50. Went Rx'd. DNF. 5yrds away from finishing the first 400 of the 5th round.
Ripped my hand. I wanted it bad.
I thought that i would be able to do this. I tried really hard but i just couldnt do it in the time limit. I feel like poo after this one. i stayed for like 30 min after the wod cus i just couldn't function.
This was so hard. Im def destroyed from the wod. I dont know why it was so hard for me i just couldnt push myself any faster. Need to get more tough mentally i guess.

Great job everyone else!! hopefully see yall tomorrow :-)

  52. Thanks guys. It was a tough one today. I'm glad I did this one when it was like 65 degrees out with a breeze. Can't imagine it any other way....
    Rx'd 37:28
Everyone at 6 this morning did great! And it seems like that hard work continued all day.
  53. kahrs Says:
  54. Scaled to #1 with 2 pood, 800 m run 20 swings and 20 pullups. DNF got 2 pull ups into the 5th round, if only there was one more minute. Luckily no tears. Great work everyone.
  55. Danielle Says:
  56. Did 800 meter run 15 kb & pu 1 pood. Finished in 34:53 which made me think I could have done #1 w/ 1 pood. 430 rocked it today, nice job, nice hands. I have my gloves to thanks for no rips!
  57. Jordan Says:
  58. DNF #3 Was finishing the run on my 5th set when time was called. I hate running, and EVA is a raging bitch.
  59. Mark Says:
  60. DNF, made it through the first 400m of round 5 when time was called. I'm glad I went Rx'd but I knew I probably wouldn't be able to finish. Running is still a huge weakness of mine so those 800's were killer.

Surprisingly, though, I was winded after this WOD but not destroyed. Usually I can barely breathe and I feel a bit foggy for the first 5 minutes or so after the WOD. I could definitely tell that because this workout was so long I couldn't maintain any kind of high intensity. I'm not a fan, short and brutal, that's how I like 'em!

Thanks For Visiting!
