Independent Thrusting!

Kat here performing DB thrusters. Unlike using the barbell, where contralateral imbalances can be hidden, there is no such luck with the use of dumbbells. If there is a weakness on one side of the body it will reveal itself quickly when db's are utilized. Midline stabilization is also challenged to a greater degree with db thrusters due to independent limb use and awkward rack position. You can clearly see this with high rep/moderate load (the same loads easily manageable with a bar) work where compensation for weak midline stabilization is compromised mechanics.

The squat jumps begin with a full squat and end with an explosive jump into the air. Jump ropes are to be completed as fast as possible with the intention of this workout being a sprint.
