WOD
Rest Day

______________________________

There are a few of us going to a competition the first weekend in October. The info is as follows:
What: Next Level Games
When: October 3rd
Sign-up Deadline: Tuesday, September 15th
Cost: $50 (if deadline is not met, price goes up to $75)
Events: Strongman/Obstacle Course/Prowler Push-Pull

There are two divisions, a novice division and a pro division. The novice division is split up into age groups. There is a $500 prize for the overall man and woman in both divisions. There will also be prizes awarded to the top three competitors in each age group of the novice division.

If you are interested, please talk to me on or before Saturday. I will be sending out my registration on Saturday and I can put yours in with mine. There are a few people already planning on going. Don't be intimidated if you think you may be interested. It is an opportunity to put to live action what you practice and preach. Anyone can do this. This trip has fun written all over it.

  4. I came in this morning and made up the 1 RM clean I missed last weekend. I sucked today. I got all mental and was thinking too much about the lift. I only got to 141 which is 4# less than my PR. I psyched myself out today. I let that happen to me too easily, especially with cleans. I know my body was tired from the last 3 days though so that may have been a factor. Or maybe I just want an excuse......
Good job to those that did come in today.

  6. I am in for the event down in Lawrence. I was already planning on being down there, so might as well workout with some friends while I am there.

  8. My nephew's birthday is on Oct. 3rd down in KCMO but its only 45:00 from Lawrence so if time allows I am still definitely in for this event, sounds really fun!...Hope we get a chance to do more things like this before the games next yr!

Out of town this wkend so no rest today...

    1-RM Back Squat= 363# PR
    1-RM Push Press= 220#

Still pretty beat up from this cycle so i think i could've done alot better on both these had i gotten some rest but still pretty happy with my 1-RMs...back squat felt pretty good 2day considering the ass soreness from lunges yest., by the time i got to PP i was beat, better next time.

Good 2 c quite a few peeps makin up WODs @ 6am on a rest day!!!

  12. I just sent off mine and Brian's entry form for the Next Level games. Trust me when I say, if I am going to compete ANYONE can. Plus when Ricky wins the $500 prize, think about how much beer he can buy all of us!!! :u)

    See everyone tomorrow at 8am.

  16. Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves with this whole Ricky getting the $500 talk. He and I will be competing in the same age division ya know...yep, they might as well put his name on that big novelty check right now. Maybe I can win the spirit award.

In all seriousness I'm really looking forward to these games and I think it's going to be an absolute blast. First place or last it'll just be fun to get out there and compete and put all this training to use. My entry name is Brian VerBriansensen.

  24. Just dropped off my entry form to be sent off.. Should be a lot of fun! Looking forward to that obstacle course!

My calves are like rocks today - hurts to walk down stairs. Or at all.

  26. Did 1 RM clean, hit a 20 pound PR at 218 thanks to John telling me to keep my butt down. I love days like this when the fix is so simple yet makes such a huge difference. I tried to get 228 but when I was fully extended the bar ended up being out too far away from my body so it came down over my knees and I was not able to get under it. It also kind of twisted my wrist so I stopped there. Great job 4:30! See everyone at 8am.

Thanks For Visiting!
